Tyler Hall – Lavender Vanilla Caramel Candied Bacon Cheesecake
LVCCBC for short
Ever since I got back from a week in Paris last year I have been
messing with French cooking and then into French fusion cooking. Part
of that is working with ingredients like lavender vanilla sugar.
Lavender gives an added dimension to vanilla sugar. Lavender Vanilla
sugar caramelized complements bacon by adding a rich sweet flavor.
Matt Pettiti and I invented this sweet and savory dish. I hope you
enjoy the idea of these flavors and thank you for your votes.
Ingredients:
Vanilla Bean
Lavender
Brown Sugar
White Sugar
Butter
Salt
Cream Cheese
Cream / Half and Half
Nueske’s Hickory Smoked Bacon
Teddy Grahams
Mascapone Cheese

Mmmm. Perfect combo of salty and sweet flavors. SO GOOD.
Wow, that is quite the amazing culinary feat! I would never have thought to put bacon in a cheesecake, and at first I was skeptical, but after reading your description and looking at the picture…. cut me a slice of that bacony goodness!!

That looks awesome, I love bacon for breakfast, but this adds a whole new dimension!
I had the pleasure of actually tasting this eccentric yet unexpectedly delicious gem and found the flavors to be surprisingly in balance. Bacon Cheesecake is an amazing amalgamation of flavors, providing sweet, smokey, salty, creamy, and sticky caramel all in one luscious and exciting new dish.
Mmmm, I really hope that there will be extra cheesecake at baconfest because this sounds like an amazing dish that I will have to try!!

Tyler gets my vote. I would have never thought to put bacon in cheese cake. After actually tasting this I couldn’t belive it. Absolutely a very good blend of flavor and the texture very good.
Tyler & Matt…love the combo of the Sweet and Savory! Love the simple ingredients. This would make a great addition to any meal or wine/book club! Good Luck and pass the fork!
What a clever use of ingredients! Not only does it look delicious, but it actually tasted fantastic! A special treat for any brunch at any time of the year. My vote goes for Tyler’s creation.
Would love this cheesecake
Creativity at its best! I love it when a chef takes risks. It reminds me of a dish I had in Spain called Nasigore . It was a take off on Paella. Saffron rice with ham, lobster, shrimp, fried eggs and candied bananas. The sweetness blended with the saltiness is what made this dish mouth watering. Tyler’s dish has the same effect. Top honors to you!
How creative and unique! I can hardly wait to taste this masterpiece.
How creative!! Please make it again for us to sample this.
Sounds awesome-save some for me!
