ABC Cake stands for Apple Bacon Crunch Cake with Maple Bacon Toffee Glaze. It’s sweet, salty, crunchy, and tastes even better with a scoop of your favorite vanilla ice cream.


  1. Nueske’s Applewood Smoked Bacon 1lb
  2. Granny Smith Apples 3
  3. Butter 2 sticks
  4. Bacon fat 1/4cup
  5. Eggs 3 xlarge
  6. Flour 3cups
  7. Baking soda 1tsp
  8. Salt 1/2tsp
  9. Ground Cinnamon 2 and 1/2tsp
  10. Sugar 2cups
  11. Pure vanilla extract 2tsp
  12. Pure Maple Syrup 1/2cup
  13. Confectioners Sugar 1/2lb
  14. Heath English Toffee Bits one 8oz bag


  1. Oven
  2. Spatula
  3. Tube pan
  4. Mixer
  5. Mixing bowl x2
  6. Cutting board
  7. Knife
  8. Whisk
  9. Frying pan
  10. Paper towel
  11. Spoon

How to make it:

  1. Preheat oven to 350F
  2. Cook Nueske’s Bacon in a frying pan until crisp and pat excess oil off with a paper towel
  3. Save rendered bacon fat for recipe
  4. Coat a 10 inch tube pan with removable bottom, with cooking spray or butter
  5. Combine all dry ingredients in a separate bowl
  6. Peel and cut apples into half inch cubes
  7. In mixer beat butter and bacon fat until light and creamy about 3 minutes
  8. Add the sugar to the mixer and beat for another minute and a half until light and fluffy
  9. Add the vanilla and then the eggs one at a time until they are all incorporated. Remember to scrape down the bowl in between each egg addition
  10. Whisk the dry ingredients to combine equally
  11. Add half of the dry ingredients to the butter mixture and mix until incorporated
  12. Then add the other half of the dry ingredients and repeat
  13. Remove the paddle and scrape down the dough
  14. Add the apples by hand folding them into the dough until they are all incorporated
  15. Put the batter in the tube pan and spread evenly
  16. Sprinkle with a little cinnamon and sugar and bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes at 350F or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  17. Let cake cool to the touch
  18. While cake is cooling mix confectioners sugar and pure maple syrup in a bowl. Mix until you achieve a smooth frosting consistency
  19. Once cake is cooled drizzle glaze over the top of the cake and immediately sprinkled crispy bacon bits and Heath English Toffee bits over the top of the cake
