Greetings Bacon Nation,

General Admission tickets will be on sale real soon! To help you pick which shift to attend, here’s more info on the exhibition roster, ticket sales, and our beverage partners!

First things first: General Admission tickets ($100 plus ticketing fees) will be on sale Monday, February 24 at 12:00pm CST. VIP tickets ($200 each) are already available; VIPs get to enter the event early during the Cooking Channel VIP hour.  Bacon-lovers can buy tickets at our Eventbrite ticketing page:

Mark the date and time and BE READY. In past years, general admission tickets have sold out lightning fast. Historical fact.

For the first time Baconfest will unfold over THREE exhibition sessions:

  • Friday Dinner on April 25 – General Admission from 7:00 PM – 9:30 PM
  • Saturday Lunch on April 26 – General Admission from 12:30 PM – 3:00 PM
  • Saturday Dinner on April 26 – General Admission from 7:00 PM – 9:30 PM

Ticket-holders get access to our bacon wonderland during the session they choose. They’ll also receive a reusable Baconfest shopping bag (sure to be an object of envy at every farmer’s market) and the karmic satisfaction of knowing that a portion of ticket proceeds goes to support the good work of the Greater Chicago Food Depository. Last year we raised over $50,000 for the GCFD.

Each session will feature:
1. More than 50 restaurants/chefs who will be sharing their bacon-creations with our guests. Guests enjoy unlimited samples of creative bacon-dishes from our all-star lineup of Chicago chefs (more on them below).

2. A curated selection of bacon Experience Partners, local entrepreneurs and national brands who provide a unique take on bacon for our guests. Our evolving roster of Experience Partners includes: Fortune Gourmet, Big Fork Bacon Sausage, Four Eyes Handmade (crafter of bacon pillows among other things), Jones Dairy Farm, and Enjoy: Urban General Store (where you can find all the wacky bacon-toys, toothpaste and objets de bacon art you can imagine).

3. Every ticketed guest receives seven drink tickets to exchange for ingenious bacon-cocktails, wine and beer.

  • Wirtz Beverage Illinois - for the first time, we’re proud to welcome Chicago’s home-town beverage giant who’ll be staffing a mega-station featuring four cocktails and several beers from their vast portfolio of products. Templeton Rye will be among the featured brands.
  • The Fifty/50 – returning to present their “Wobble Stopper“, the official Bloody Mary of Baconfest Chicago.
  • Candid Wines – This local organic wine distributor returns with Tenuta Santomé, the official bubbles of Baconfest Chicago as well as a selection of other wines.
  • Koval Distillery – Chicago’s first new distillery since the 1880’s will be serving drinks and sampling whiskey at the Friday Dinner session.
  • Friday Night Special – Danny Shapiro from Scofflaw and Benjamin Schiller from the Berkshire Room will each invent and serve signature cocktails during the Friday Dinner session only.

We’ll also have an assortment of delicious frosty beers for guests to enjoy, including:

No drink ticket required for non-alcoholic beverages:

  • Smeraldina Water – Back for the third year, their Sardinian mineral water will quench your thirst.
  • Stumptown Coffee Roasters - New for 2014! If you hit a bacon-wall, visit Stumptown’s station for some cold-brew on ice or a steaming cup of fresh-brewed coffee.

Of course, Nueske’s Applewood Smoked Meats is back as our Bacon Sponsor, yes! Last year, they provided almost three tons of bacon for chefs to use in their dishes. Viva la Nueske’s! Their bacon is awesome and their support makes this event possible and delicious. Look here for all of our sponsors –

Today we are most pleased to release the shift breakdown for our participating restaurants. We couldn’t be more grateful and honored that these ingenious chefs have chosen to share their time and energy with us to help us create our amazing bacon-party. Use this schedule to decide which session (or sessions!) you’d like to attend.
