Greetings Bacon Nation,

We hope you have all had a great summer!! Here at Bacon Headquarters, we are setting in motion preparations for the 6th Annual Baconfest Chicago.

It’s no secret that Baconfest Chicago is one of the toughest tickets to get in town. Last February, general admission tickets sold out in a half-hour; we had a wait-list for tickets a mile long. In response to this insatiable demand from you, Bacon Nation, we have decided to expand Baconfest Chicago from two exhibition sessions to THREE!

Baconfest Chicago 2014 will be held on Friday April 25 and Saturday April 26, 2014 at the UIC FORUM (725 West Roosevelt).

The event structure will be similar to last year – however we will feature THREE shifts, one on Friday evening and the other two on Saturday (just like the Lunch/Dinner shifts last year), each with a VIP hour and a general admission period. Ticket prices will remain the same – $100 for general admission and $200 for VIP.

As always, we’ll fine-tune our event based on lessons learned last April while keeping everything that we love about our fest. Spreading the event over a two day period allows us to accommodate more chefs, sponsors and most importantly, YOU our amazing fans/guests in a festive environment. We are E-X-C-I-T-E-D!!

Additionally, we are planning to explode Baconfest Chicago beyond the borders of that two day period into what we call “BACON WEEK CHICAGO” with:

A full week of preview events!

  • Baconfest Cocktail Kickoff Party featuring master Bacon Mixologists
  • Bacon Cocktail Tour
  • Baconfest Past Masters Kickoff Dinner
  • Neighborhood Bacon Crawls

We’re also thrilled to be expanding our partnership with the Greater Chicago Food Depository with a brand new dine-around program. We’ll invite Baconfest restaurants to put a special bacon-dish on their menus for the month of April and to donate a portion of sales to the Greater Chicago Food Depository.

We will also be hosting a variety of new Bacon-contests in addition to the traditional Amateur Cookoff and Poetry contests.

As usual, we plan to release a limited number of VIP tickets in December in time for holiday gift-giving. These tickets are for our most die hard fans. Our partner restaurants and shift breakdowns won’t be finalized before the holidays, so you have to really love the event and trust us that it’s gonna be rad. All general admission tickets will go on sale in mid February. We will be sure to email our mailing list subscribers any time a ticket release is planned and we will also get the word out via social media.

If you are a bacon fan in Chicagoland, we hope by now you know us. You know the event ROCKS. You know we’ll do everything in our power to make sure you have a great experience with our amazing chefs, sponsors, and other exhibitors as we gather together to celebrate bacon. You know we support an incredible charity partner, the Greater Chicago Food Depository, for whom you’ve helped us raise over $130,000 in the few short years since we began. We hope you know what a pleasure it would be for Baconfest to have you return to party with us once again.

For anyone not familiar with our event, please join our mailing list and follow us on Facebook and Twitter so that you can stay tuned for details about next April’s mega-bacon-spectacular. Check out our wrap-up of last year’s event. Watch our Today Show segment from 2013.

If you are a chef/restaurant/sponsor/exhibitor and you are a veteran of Baconfest Chicago, rest assured, we will reach out to you individually to invite you to return. If you are new to Baconfest and would like to exhibit, e-mail for more info.
