For our tenth anniversary, Baconfest Chicago organizers have assembled the broadest, most fascinating, most bacon-riffic lineup of culinary talent ever to man the chafers at our festival of pork. Even as we speak, chefs in kitchens across the city and throughout the region are diligently applying their prodigious creativity to one task and one task only, the task of delighting your bacon taste buds with knock-out bacon dishes at Chicago’s biggest and best celebration of America’s favorite cured meat.

It is with great pleasure that we reveal to you the current line-up of restaurants and chefs for Baconfest Chicago 2018 (April 6 – 7 at the UIC Forum).

It, like America and Walt Whitman, contains multitudes.

If we had you at Bacon, then read no more — get thee to the ticketing page to get your own all-access pass to bacon wonderland.

But there’s a lot to know about this year’s all-star lineup.

We’re delighted to welcome back an elite crew of ten-year veterans of Baconfest, restaurants which have been with us since our first ten-chef VIP Pro Cookoff at the Publican: Vie Restaurant, of Western Springs, home of celebrity chef Paul Virant, will be back – Chef de Cuisine Dan Compton aims to bring home the restaurant’s third Golden Rasher award.

The Signature Room at the 95th is another high-flying spot which will exhibit for the tenth time at our tenth annual event. And Chef Nathan Sears, who represented Vie at our first annual event, and has helmed the kitchen at several prestigious establishments since, will be back for his tenth personal Baconfest, this time leading the State & Lake Chicago Tavern team.

But wait, there’s more!

We have more than thirty restaurants exhibiting at Baconfest for their very first time – celebrated 2017 openings like The Delta, Heritage Restaurant and Caviar Bar and Hearth & Crust will join other beloved Baconfest first-timers like Eataly, Kimski, and the Soho House’s Chicken + Farm Shop at the annual porkapalooza.

We’re especially excited to welcome authentic restaurants committed to traditional foodways that don’t often make the food festival circuit. Family spots like Birreria Zaragoza will be making their first Baconfest appearance – if you haven’t tried their outrageously awesome goat-based birria tatemada, you’ve been missing out on a quintessential Chicago taco experience. We can’t wait to see what they do with bacon! And Immm Thai Street Food, where chef Dew Suriyawan creates a daily cornucopia of Thai specialties that you rarely find anywhere outside of Bangkok and Chiang Mai.

Here is the full list, a snapshot of our current lineup which will no doubt grow and change in the weeks between now and Baconfest. But, for the mean time, marvel at its complexity and depth.
