Sauerkraut Bacon
4lb cabbage
1/2 lb or so of Nueske’s
diced onions
black pepper
Rinse and warm the cabbage. Fry bacon, dice/crumple bacon. Lightly grill onions. Mix onions, kraut, bacon including grease together. Add black pepper to taste. Yummy yummy.
I was raised on Nueske’s as my family has had property in nearby Peru, WI for over 50 years. This is a family recipe that is served at Thanksgiving and was once the only meat dish my vegetarian sister would eat.
